Three popular methods are employed by most owners:
1. Adjustable shocks. Many 1/2T owners use Bilstein adjustable shocks. They do have a limit, around setting 2.8, where the upper control arms are at risk but most trucks level out below that setting.
2. Spacer kit. This kit is a 2.0" to 2.5" tall (depending on maker and application) spacer that installs at the top of the front spring between the spring & the spring pocket. Some come with a shock relocation bracket to allow you to reuse your stock shocks and to significantly reduce any suspension geometry deviation.
3. Suspension replacement. This is a kit where you basically install a 2.0 - 2.5" front lift consisting of shocks, coil springs, a track bar, sway bar links, etc....
I have used 2 inch spacer kits with the shock relocation bracket on 3 2500 Rams with no problems at all.
