Just curious if the remote start feature has a life expectancies of 1000 starts, 2000, or does it last as long as the battery has a charge , Or is there a component in the system that can fail ?

As long as the key fob, and obviously the truck, are in good working order, then it will work ...

I don't believe there is a stated life expectancy.

A failure would most likely be connected to a dead fob battery, a fob electronic failure or an electronic failure of the receiver module.

The mechanical portion of the starter is certainly designed to last much longer than the battery.

It will last as long as the vehicle will. Other then the Module that receives the signal from the remote and the battery in the remote it's no different then starting with the key in the ignition.

I always keep a spare lithium battery in the center consol now. The last time the key fob battery got low it started acting up (keyless entry wouldn’t always work, truck wouldn’t read the fob and didn’t start etc)

As far as I know the life expectancy of the remote start is just how long the RF hub works...
