Just wondering what everyone is getting for fuel mileage on your lifted trucks with bigger tires. Would like to compare and see what the difference are.
My 2010 with Hemi has a 4" lift on 34" Nitto EXO tires , strictly in town city driving back and forth to work with multiple stop signs i am getting 10-11mpg, on the hwy at 60mph the gauge reads 17ish mpg and on the hwy pulling my sxs on the trailer ( 2000lbs total) I get approx 13 mpg.

Ya I was wondering if the lower gearing would help with mileage running bigger tires also.....

2” level with 34” and 3.92
Town - 15
Town/highway to work (40-55mph) - 17
Highway 70-80 - lucky if I can get 17

Mpg went down big time going from the stock passenger tires to the LT tires

This! I put on some 20” fuel wheels and 34” tires. They are heavy as hell, therefore my mpg suffered, but I look cool lol

OK we are similar on the hwy but you are doing better than me for city mileage. I know my Nitto EXO are much heavier than the Duratracs I had, these weigh in at 64lbs which must affect the efficiency somewhat

I have Toyo at2 295/60r20. I also have engine mods that also help when I’m easy on the throttle

West27, I dont want to highjack my own post and get off topic but considering your engine mods " help" with fuel mileage I think it should be acceptable, lol! Anywho, please do tell , what fuel economy mods did you do? I am so lite footed its ridiculous, I pretty much get out of the truck at stop signs and push it to get it going, lol!!

Also 180 degree thermostat but that just helps with keeping it cool

Has anybody documented any actual gains from running the 180 degree stat? I've got one in my '88 C/1500 beater but that's because heat is the true enemy of those old iron block / iron head engines. But from all my knowledge these new engines are built to handle running in the 195-215 range, so I don't think switching to a 180 stat is actually helping anything.

I have a 6" BDS lift w/ 37" Toyo RT's and average 15 mpg lately, mostly highway @ 80-85 mph. 70ish gets me up to 16. Lots of city drops to 14. 3.92 gears w/ 8 spd

Leveled with 34’s BFG’s. I’m in the 14 range. With the Pedal Commander on Sport 2 I actually saw an increase +2.

The level didn’t hurt me, the 295/65-20 on the other hand did. Dropped 2 mpg in 30 minutes once they were mounted. I average 16.1 now in my hemi 4x4 crew with 3.21 all 70mph or more highway.

Yip, if there is proof that the lower running temp makes a difference I am totally on it!!

Bigger tires are definitely dragging the mpg down without a doubt. Nice to see exactly how much effect they are having on the mpg

Have read lots about the E-fan, wonder exactly what the fuel gains would be with this mod?

Gains of cooler temps help with detonation when timing is bumped up to run 93 octane tunes.
Fan delete helps with gas mileage & hp because less drag on engine drive belt
