For some reason, I would like to install a lightbar... About the only place I can see it going is behind the grill. The only issue I see with that is that it seems like a good bit of the output would be diminished due to being behind the grill.

Does anybody have a light bar installed behind the grill, and do you regret it?

No and yes, you'll regret it. lol
Unless, your truck is lifted and goes off-road, then it's cool.

I have some huge rounds.
Bright as hell when no grill.

When the grill is on,Only bright head on. The grill works as a collimator, sorta.012f2ac286b92c2efd67a08e8c196577.jpg

I was thinking of a grille like this even though it has some lights flush mounted on it. I would still want to add probably 1 more bar behind the grille towards the middle or top because I don’t want to see them. I’m not even big on seeing the lights mounted on that grille but that seems like the grille is very transparent so could be good or could be bad. Depends.

I did something. I got some free new buyers lights just had to have some brackets made for them since the bracket they come with, typically rip the mounting bolt out of the mounting bracket. part number 1492194, 7920 lumens. They don’t look too bad. I mounted them on what I believe to be the core support just had to drill 2 bolts to mount them but look really good. I’m still in process of mounting 4 more lights, 2 in the front bumper and 2 under the rear bumper for reverse lights. I’ll provide some night shots probably tomorrow when I’m fully finished with my project.

So another update: I finished installing all of the lights I got. 2 behind the grille flood lights, 2 in the plastic trim of the bumper flood lights, 2 reverse lights floods as well. Fronts are on one switch. Reverse are on another separate switch. Wiring wasn’t too bad just time consuming.

The only thing I wish is that the front lights I used behind the grille were spot lights and not floods so it would be more distant but hey can’t be picky with free lights that still have a 5 year warranty.

I may in the future invest in some spot lights to hang upside down in the top portion behind the grille so I can see farther but for now this is what I’ve got.

Another thing that im very, very excited about is that I found a 3rd spare key while installing these lights in a magnetic box under the truck. The reason I say so is because the 2 keys I currently were using, one factory key, one aftermarket. The factory key I had wouldn’t lock/unlock/panic anymore yet started the truck just fine, the buttons just simply wouldn’t work with new batteries and trying tedious things on the internet to fix them them. The aftermarket key I had could still lock/unlock/panic just fine just would no longer start the truck. But the third key I had found would work as it should with a new battery start lock/unlock/panic. It was covered in mud so I suspect it’s been there for a hot minute.

3rd photo is with headlights only
4th photo is with headlights and all 4 floods
5th photo is floods only

7th photo is trucks reverse lights which are leds
8th photo is reverse leds with floods under bumper.
