- 5.7 Hemi
Over the past 2 years (pandemic time), I decided to do some exterior upgrades to the 2015 Big Horn Crew Cab 5.7' bed Hemi. I started by removing the factory plastic bed liner. For those who wanted to know what it looks like under after about 7 years see the first 2 pictures.
I was hoping, and eventually had a baby on the way (he's been here 6 months now). Knowing I wouldn't be able to use the drivers side under rear seat storage because of the car seat base (I have the factory sub under the rest), I needed to be able to securely store cargo (including towing gear). I also needed to be able to carry gear in the bed (stroller, HD supplies,...) and keep them out of the elements. So, toolbox and a Tonneau cover was what I looking for.
I always wanted to Line-X the bed, I'm not a fan of plastic liners. The cargo mat helps all my stuff not slide around in the bed, since Line-X doesn't stop gear from sliding. The mat also keeps me from destroying my knees when I kneel in the bed of the truck.
I can have everything out of the bed in about 25 minutes, if I need full use of the bed. I put everything back in in just about the same amount of time.
Plastic liner removed after 7 years on the truck:
Line-X installed:
