Bought a 23 2500 in 23, needed a bed cover ASAP and ended up with the cheapest thing I could find on Amazon. Gator ETX Soft Roll Up Truck Bed Tonneau Cover | 53205

It's not a tri-fold, but 2 years later I still haven't found a need to replace it. Still looks brand new. Not bad for $200.

With all my trucks I get a spray on bed liner. Most have a lifetime warranty, if it gets scratched etc, they will fix it. I have never had one get ripped or scratched. I have Rhino, Line-x and some others, without issues.

As for a cover I use the Extang Trifecta I can have it on and off by myself in a few minutes. All the ones I have had have held up to the weather in the Cleveland OH area, and now in TN.
I've torn both rhino and line-x...both fixed no questions asked...I prefer line-x though...seems a little smoother, not so painful on the knees....
Currently have a Leer hardtop on the truck..came with it used...myself I would not buy this type...real pain when you have to haul something taller than the bedrails...last truck had a soft top that would easily roll up like Djs and Harleys pics.

I have a Lomax tri-fold, only a few months so far but I do like it. I have the diamond plate and have only one complaint which is not the fault of the cover. I do remove mine frequently and it's a little heavy. Not unmanageable but I think I'd look for lighter next time.

I got a gator on my truck ('17) that was on it when I bought it

I have no reason to believe it wasn't installed in early '17 when the p.o. picked it off of the lot

Best I can tell it does all it needs to do
(Now, if i were to design a folding cover there would be some sort of frame that allowed me to lift it up on the leading edge behind the cab, instead of always having at least one panel down on the bedrail, but I digress)

Now, where I was going with this is the following, one of the clamp sections broke recently

This is the plastic part that the clamp slides in

We're talking work truck here and something...it gets used as a work truck, so it may have been slammed and jammed and crammed and of my goodness I'm stuck in a rap

So, piece broke, so I go trying to call...would t you know it, there is no phone number for Gator tonneau covers, they all lead to 'American Trucks'
So I gave them a call

15 minutes and 20 dollars later I got two new clamp sections in the mail, that's a good thing

I have a ‘17 Sport. Came with a spray in liner as an option not sure what the dealer would have applied. I’ve had lumber, firewood and gravel as well as a quad in the back and it’s stood up perfectly. As far as a cover, mine has The Lo-Pro by Truxedo. So it mounts to the inside of the box rails instead of on top. It’s a soft roll-up and it’s worn beautifully. The only downside is that it doesn’t cover the 2 open stakes pockets at the back but I’ve still had almost no water in the bed even with a pounding rain.

They also make rubber covers that just snap in, in case you don't like the tie downs sticking out
