My eyes hurt from searching for an answer to this issue, I'm hoping someone can help. I just installed a lock pick in a 2011 Ram Larime and everything works fine EXCEPT I have no video when viewing a movie on the IPod just sound...DVD's are fine..this is only with the iPod which is hooked up to the RCA inputs with the proper I-pod cable... this same cable worked on my old truck with a pioneer head unit. My lock pick is a V.4...is there a firmware upgrade that might help ..or any ideas what might help. The video is showing on the I pod and the sound is coming from the truck speakers... but I can't get the video on screen for anything .

I would ask the designer of the lockpick they would know better than we would as not many people are running them.

On certain items downloaded directly from iTunes, the content protection does not allow the video to show on non-Apple devices. The same thing will occur if you try to stream Netflix on both Apple and Android devices.

They way around this protection is to put videos on your iPod that are not purchased from iTunes but are added to your iTunes library from an external source.

no..thats not it...I stream a lot over many devices...I don't buy anything from apple I load my own movies and never had issues in the past 2 truck and 10 years. The lockpick ..version 3 anyway...just doesn't seem to have the ability to do it . And calling them is a joke..some kid in tech support called me back 2 hours later and when I explain the issue all he tried to do was sell me a more expensive unit with wifi so I could stream movies...and I'm surprise at the comment above about not many using them(lockpics) since dodge/chyrsler owners are the number one buyer of these due to the fact you cant even add a camera to your truck without paying a dealer to unlock the function..not to mention the GPS on the fly.Anyway I'm installing my backup cam tomorrow and a front cam after that..hell at 10 bucks a cam I might even add side vies cams, but after taking off the brand new running boards the dealer put on and replacing them with factory dodge ram boards this morning...that's enough for today. I'll read up on the lockpic and see if there are any hacks or mods for it.

Which model lockpick do you have and how are you connecting the iPod?

And therein lies the issue..its a version 4...I'm using the I-pod audio/video cable with the 3 RCA jacks and a usb...same cable I used on my ford with the pioneer avic head unit...and the same cable I use on the TV in the garage. I'm assuming its a firmware issue but when I asked there tech about doing a firm ware upgrade he was perplexed and just said but a new unit that has better I-pod connectivity built in

I'm not familiar with the iPods, but on the iPhone you have to turn on mirroring for video to appear on the lockpick.

I should rephrase, there aren't many people running them that actively post about them anymore.

Does this video help?

https://youtu.be/zEQk3jro99I

Here's something from the Wrangler forum...

"Alright was on the phone with Carlos from Coastal tech today and went over the wiring harness that plugs into the lockpick part and they had 2 wires crossed up I had to cut the wires and switch them around and now it seems to work correctly. "

PM me if you want Carlos's number...he is "the" technician for coastal electronics.

Where are you ordering them from for 10 bucks a camera?

I am thinking to get 4, or maybe 5 depending on if I can get this idea working properly.
