Just curious what you guys all do for long term storage (at least 6 months), or do you recommend anything above disconnecting the negative terminal and putting Sta-bil in the gas tank.

Also can you recommend a good cover I'm not really concerned with price, I want to keep the truck as a nice as when I left.

Thanks.

Pull the battery put it in a climate controlled area. Run some sort of fuel stabilizer. Put dryer sheets anywhere you think mice can get in and chew on stuff i.e. glove box, floors under the seats, on the seats, in the air box, mice hate these things. Trup is absolutely correct about flat tires. I usually find something different every time I come back from a deplyment so I keep adding this to my checklists lol.

Want a good cover? Rent a storage unit and keep it in there.
Covers suck unless they are in a weather free environment.

how are you getting mice inside your truck when its closed?

a battery tender is a good investment if your truck is going to be sitting for periods of time.

You would be surprised what they can chew through, like the rubber gromets in the fire wall or clutch pedal covers that are made of plastic. These this where on older vehicles not my Ram.

Covers are only good for temporarily keeping dust off in an enclosed shelter of one form or another. Unfortunately outside, even under a carport, they are also good for holding moisture in and creating the perfect environment for rust to begin in places you can't even see.

HA HA. I may rent a storage unit..at least untill hurricane season is over. My in-laws have a camp in south Louisiana, but it has some flood potential during huricanes.

Telling the wife we have to rent a storage for my truck will be interesting.

Have your wife drive it once a week. Trouble with that is she may not give it back when you get back. Otherwise, Stabil (run it so it is in the whole system), Bounce sheets for the critters, desiccant canisters or bags to keep the humidity down, Ctek or battery tender to keep the battery up (I'd rather not disconnect battery and lose all settings), put it on jack stands, car cover from Griot's or Californis car cover has worked for me (inside). If you don't have a garage, rent one.
