longest tips

What's the longest exhaust tip I can put on without having to remove the resonator? I'm looking at the mbrp 5il inch tips but not sure if I can keep the resonators, if not ill probably go with the mufflex ss 5 inch tips since it is a direct bolt on

I think I heard the 12" long one would work, but be close? Most guys get em chopped off when they get tips on so idk for sure

Just pull the resonators, wont make much of a change. One of the guys I work with was running for a couple months with his resonators still installed after he changed out his muffler and finally had them removed about 2 weeks ago but didn't say anything about it to me until yesterday. I didn't notice a change in the sound of his exhaust.

Alright one thing I'm worried about is drone in the cab, I've heard that the resonators help kill the drone. Is that true?

I just checked with a tape measure and you should roughly have like 18-19" from resonator to the end of the tips. I dont have the resonators anymore so im measuring from the new welded piece but im getting 18-19" overall and its about 14" from the clamp to the end of the tip.

As for drone, it also depends on the muffler. I have dynomax bullets and still had some drone with the resonators. It only kicks in at certain rpm levels but to me its not that bad but I dont have the best hearing lol

I have the MagnaFlow 14" and noticed more drone with the resonators ON than when I had them taken off. Just my experience.

Did everyone buy the $40 a piece adapters from RBP?! I want 5" MBRP tips but dont want to spend a total of $200 plus install.
