So any of you guys running any kind of longtubes w/o cats and live in an emissions county, how are you guys passing on the rollers? I am thinking about getting a set of JBA longtubes and in conjunction trying to use the 02 extensions and steel wool to see if I can keep from getting a CEL. What are some suggestions?

There are no rollers or tail pipe sniffer for OBD II systems, they just hook up their scan tool and if there are no codes you pass.

Yeah I was told by a shop near me that if there is no codes then you are good. But why the rollers? Isn't that the point of checking for pollution/02 levels? This is my very first time to be in an emissions county so I am very ignorant on the subject.

I'm running the JBA Longtubes without cats. Using this setup minus the steel wool. I've been running like this since late November. And haven't thrown a code for the Cats since I did this. But I will throw a code every few days for my front O2 sensors for being under efficiency. I haven't figured that problem out yet though.

Rollers are for OBD I systems, but only back to 1991 (older than '91 is only a safety inspection) the rollers will be phased out within the next 4 or 5 years.

I'll try the spark plug non foulers and go from there. And I just heard about the obd1 vehicle situation earlier. Thanks for the replies. Looks like I can just get away with it. I wonder if the steel wool just puts a cushion for error?

Must do it. I never put it in. But the are easy enough to get to. If I needed to get to them.
