looking at buying a 2011

Im sure yall dont want to hear this but i am a ford guy haha. The good thing is i want to make the switch to the cummins. Im looking at buying a 2011 3500 drw 4x4 crew cab, with 138kmiles on it. It does have a gooseneck hitch and the owner has been pulling a 8k lb trailer with it. It also got in a minor front end collision. The owner says he only had to replace the two front quarte panels, bumper, and hood. I guess what i need to know is... what do i need to look/listen for, and what else do i need to know when buying this beast?

Nope wouldn't touch it unless I knew for a fact that everything under the damaged sheet metal is perfectly straight which 9 out of ten times it isn't.

Car fax it. Just check the records just in case it it shows at "totaled". Then check the frame, airbags, radiator. ..all the front end goddies and be as **** as possible with everything. Then get a second opinion if you see something that doesn't look right.

Yeah you could carfax it and check to see if it was totaled out and rebuilt. Have the guy let you take it for a spin and run it by a trusted body shop to have it looked over.

I'd personally look elsewhere. These trucks are a dime a dozen. I wouldn't touch that one.

A great robot once said "run will Robinson! RUN!" Yeah like said above my friend look elsewhere . They are nice trucks with lots of power but a "little" accident requiring quarter panels and front end stuff, I'd avoid weather it's ford, dodge, chev or a bat mobile .

At least around here, duallys tend to sit on dealer lots longer and you get better deals. Especially with a cummins, I'd want warranty as well.

And a 'minor accident' doesn't require fenders, hood, and bumper to be replaced. It's a 3500 with steel bumpers, TF did he hit that damaged all that?
