Hi,
I just recently purchased a 2012 Ram 1500 and am thinking about exhaust kits for it. Im not even sure what i should be looking for, however i know I like the dual look the best. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance,
Joe

Do you have the factory duals? If so then just swap in a magnaflow muffler.

Not sure you need a muffler to pass inspection I know you need a catalytic converter but not positive about a muffler

There is a sticky is this forum with exhaust clips. That and youtube will be your friend and help you decide.

I used to love Flowmaster, but after awhile the drone gets to you.

Thanks for all the replies! I really appreciate it going to hit up youtube & see what sound I like best. I'm definitely going for something that sounds mean, and aggressive. Im not to sure what the specs are in VA but im pretty sure you cant just saw the muffler off haha but that sounds AWESOME!
I've heard flowmaster or magnaflow are the way to go. Any advice as to which to go with?

I scored a Magnaflow 12198 (14" SI/DO) off ebay new for $60, shop charged me $40 to install it. Sounds amazing, no drone, real mellow at idle but when you give it gas it really wakes up.

I would say flowmaster.. Imo magnaflow is more of a raspy sound and sounds more like a tuner but flowmaster has a deep muscle sound with out much done

I put a flowmaster on my 2012 the first week I bought it and I love it. It's gives it a real deep tone. Just put a K&N cold air intake on this week and it made it sound even deeper. It gives it a more powerful tone than the other mufflers IMO

I have the Flowmaster 40 series... if you are looking for loud, go with a super 44... if you want a deep rumble, go with the 40 series... or, just put in a straight pipe!!!:peace:

i too am looking for a nice bump in the exhaust but dont wanna replace the whole system. Looking at a y-pipe and the flowmaster 44 series. What is the inlet? is it single 3'' in and dual 2.5'' outlet? and which y-pipe will suffice
