Hey everyone, I’m looking to upgrade the head unit in my 2015 Ram truck and could use some suggestions.
The current unit works most of the time, but every now and then it randomly resets, refuses to power on, or gets stuck playing music and won’t respond until I cycle the ignition multiple times—or it just stays dead for a while. It’s super inconsistent and getting on my nerves.
What I’m Looking For:
I want a head unit that’ll support adding OEM-style features later on:
Steering wheel controls
Backup camera
Possibly the factory-style 360 camera system
Not sure if the factory remote start needs any integration with the head unit, but if so, I’d like to retain or support that too.
I’m leaning heavily toward OEM or OEM-style parts because I prefer a clean factory look and solid integration.
If you've upgraded your head unit in a similar setup, I'd love to hear:
What brand/model you're running
How well it works with add-ons like cameras and steering wheel controls
Any quirks or issues
