Merry Christmas everyone!
My wife got me this head unit from Amazon for my 2015 SLT
It is a Junsun 2GB + 64GB

She also got me an aftermarket tailgate handle with camera:

Was looking through the wiring diagrams and got a little confused about 1 method of hookup for the aftermarket rear camera.

This shows hooking this pink or brown wire to the camera cable. On the provided harness adapter, this wire is not a pigtail, it hooks into the canbus adapter.
So, would i leave it connected and simply tap into it?
Or, cut it off, and tie the end from the head unit into the camera harness?
There is a second method, pictured here:

I will likely try this one, but was looking for input on the other, wasn't sure if anyone knew of a difference in the 2 methods.
Thanks.
My Uconnect has been very flaky since my cam/lifter job, random shutting off and restarting, not pairing, or saying it's paired for audio, but not playing my files. I'm tired of fighting it.
