Looks like you can't get a 3.92 with the A8

From what I can tell from the RAM site, which just recently began showing the A8 as an option with the 5.7, 3.21 gears are standard, 3.55 optional, and 3.92 not available. Anybody heard anything different?

Sorry guys, but I may have spoken too soon. I was specing out a Laramie Limited when I made that observation. I just speced out a Sport and it WOULD let me order a 5.7/A8/3.92. YAY!!!

Yep! I ordered my A8 Sport with the 3.92's. It's all about the model. The sport is kind of like an R/T, but not really... lol

3.92 is closaer to 4.10 than to 3.55, right?
I like to think its an almost R/T

I ordered my Longhorn 4x4 with the Hemi, A8, and 3.92s.. Granted, it has yet to be built.

i just checked it out and they finally have the 8 speed as an option as well. wont let me click on the 3.92 gears with 8 speed and that was for a sport. if i click on 6 speed and 3.92 its fine but as soon as i click on 8 speed it says i have to remove the 3.92. im sure the dealer can add it though but the site says no

I would think that with the A8 it is not really worth it. The granny gear is soooo low compared to the old 5/6 spd transmissions that even the 3.21 w/A8 probably has a similar first gear ratio to the 3.92 on the older models. Might as well take advantage of those top ranges since you have 8 gears to pick from lol.
