I have a 2017 3500 Cab-chassis with an aluminum flatbed that I use on my ranch -- all the roads are dirt and in pretty bad condition. While climbing a hill the left rear tire lost traction and was just spinning. I thought the differential is supposed to shift power to the other wheel when traction is lost. What's going on?

Not if you have an open diff. Are you supposed to have limited slip?

Put your VIN into the VIN search and it will spit out all of your options. You may not have Limited Slip Differential. That, or have your dealer search it.

Thank you for the replies.

I entered my VIN -- it says, "ANTI-SPIN DIFFERENTIAL REAR AXLE." I guess that means limited slip, right?

So I guess I'll have bring this up at the dealership at my next service. Thanks again!
