I haven't really seen any of the old big names do anything since the 5th gens came back out. Nickey has a site, but minus just some clothing, you can't order anything which was a let down. That W31 I would want back as well. Its like my 67 RS/SS car. It had every option available in 67 except disc brakes. It was also a early Van Nuys car so even more rare there. Its like what was I thinking... Now I have this 02 Z car and not a 67 lol. Oh well one day I will have another 67.
Looks like the official name is now Nickey Performance. Wikipedia says Stefano bought the rights in 2002.
There are youtube videos of them building Camaros, Corvettes, etc.

It changed names looks like sometime after I built my 67, so 2012ish. I know after that it got real hard to find reproduction parts.

Yeah it was around 2013 when Stefano called me. He called my home phone and it came up Nickey Chicago. At the time it didn't register in my head that it was Nickey Chevrolet until I called him back and he told me. But for sure it was either 2012, 2013 or possibly 2014 but pretty sure it was 2013 that he called. If I can find the forum he was a member of I would know cause he asked me to go on and post about it to fill in the blanks in his thread.

That would be awesome! Yeah I knew it was right around that time.

Funny story about the Keystones. My first car was a 1972 Cutlass S. A few years later I knew I wanted another one and wanted Keystone Classics. Went to the local speed shop and bought brands new Keystones and tires but still didn't have a car. The owner had asked me what kind of car and what year. Told him a Cutlass but not sure what year yet cause I was still looking. He is the one that told me about the W31. The original owner got it as a graduation present but parked it in his parents garage around 1980 and was working out of state. In 1988 the father bought a new van and pulled the W31 outside where it sat a few months till I bought it. I paid $700 and we had to tow it home cause the engine was locked up. A kid that I ended up becoming friends with showed up at the guys house about 30 minutes after I left wanting to buy it. He found me and tried to buy it from me for years. He ended up with a 1970 Skylark. His best friend had a 1970 W30 442 so he wanted mine so they could match I guess....lol. But me wanting Keystones led me to that car.

Thats a really cool story. My dad got his first 67 around 85-86 I believe. He traded a running and driving 77 Z for it. It didn't run, but back in the 80s they were still in fairly good shape. He only had to do some patch panels. He went to a junior college just to learn body work lol. He taught me everything I know about body work. The 80s and early 90s were the best time to find NOS and good original parts. I still hit the swap meets that are left in my area. I enjoy looking for parts. I am actually going to one tomorrow.

To add to the nostalgia my first truck was a restored 40 Chevy. It was Camaro clipped with a 350/350. It was a laser straight example. I ended up selling it and got into Foxbodies. I found a picture of it about 10 years ago and tried to find the owner. I never got a response from the site it was on so that ended that dead end. My brother 46 Chevy Panel Van that he sold is still around. It didn't turn out as good as the 40 did. It had seen a lot of hail and my grandpa was never able to make it laser straight. My grandpa also had a 63 Nova SS convertible. I have no clue where it ended up. My dads 69 has been sitting for 30 plus years including the 15 years he has had it. I dont know that he will ever finish it. Its a Dusk blue on blue car originally that is a X44 car that he is trying to make into a COPO. He's got everything to finish it, but health has taken a toll and I am not exactly a short drive to work on it for him anymore. I am sure at some point I will be the one to finish it.

Did a show on Saturday. It is definitely a car people want to look at. I still need to fine tune my display. My youngest did better then I did lol. He made the Facebook post about the car show. We were dealing with 30-40 mph winds which was fun. I scored some real ZR1 wheels and then some brand new Goodyear F1 tires Saturday. I worked all day yesterday getting them sanded down and primed. I shot them black late yesterday.. I will get them mounted mid to late week and get them on it. It is going to look so much better. The C7 wheels dont do it for me.

I actually was stalking the older man I got it from and came across this picture of it when he had it.

Well the Camaro decided it was going to change its identity. It now identifies as a Corvette or as I called it Trans Fender. :burnout:I have the ZR1 wheels on, but I am waiting for my center cap emblems to arrive. I will post pictures when its done. The battery decided to die. I was able to jump it, but looks like that is in the near future. Weird if it is dead. Its a 2 year old Delco. Ive got the trickle on it now. I probably should do it once a week because it does do a lot of sitting.

They closed all the tracks... My closest is Texas Motorplex and that's 2 hours away. They do some street legal races at Texas Motor speedway. I just have to do good guys. TMS is only 15 minutes away.

My local track is 155 miles from me,and i still get there, lol
Currently I am still making sure its up to making long trips. Ive made it almost half way once, my luck I would dynamite the rear end or the transmission. I will make a pass at some point this year. LS fest might have something.

Well the car decided to lock me out with the VATS so I am waiting to have the ignition switch replaced and new keys to be made. I am not messing with a 22 year old air bag lol. That is one thing I dont care to tackle myself. Anyways in the mean time the center cap decals came and I have to admit this thing looks sick. The look of it just works for me. I bought a airbrush and did some very minor cosmetic touch ups to it yesterday. It had a scratch I didn't like around the passenger headlight. Looked like someone drug it installing or removing them. I also fixed about a 4 inch bad curb scratch. I filled in the messed up spot with filler and then touched it up. It is a very clean survivor car. It has never had a repaint. I also got a really cool magazine today. I am going to frame it up.
