I don't see this info on here for just a lowering of the rear. On a 3rd gen it was easy with drop shackles. For anybody coming here looking for the info what is the easiest way to lower the rear on a 4th gen to make the truck level?

Mcgaughys has a set of coil springs that will drop the rear 2". Just installed them on my 2012 express yesterday. Rides like stock looks great.

Do you actually get the full 2" of drop? I know on my Gen3, I only get about 1.75" of drop with my shackles.

Groundforce has a kit for the CC/QC as well to drop the rear 2". I have the kit for a RCSB and got 2" of drop. I had an 08 Ram a few years back and only got 1.25" drop on the shackle flip kit. You will be happy with the GF kit, no worries.

I'm seriously considering the stock height, +25% TufTruck coils, and cutting them down to get it level. I worry about towing, even with and Airlift kit, with less travel in the rear and stock spring rates (soft).

towing worries

Has anyone successfully lowered their trucks and still used the truck for towing and or work. I'd like to lower the rear to have the truck sit level since I've added the R/T wheels but I am nervous because I do not want to lose the ability to cary a load in the bed or tow a heavy trailer as I do sometimes.

I know it's like apples to oranges with a Gen3's leaf springs compared to a Gen4's coil springs, but look at mine...this is with the rear lowered with shackles, still have the OL leaf installed.

This is precisely why I want to use Tufftruck +25% springs, cut down, to achieve my rear level. I'm going to get more familiar with the truck and its sag while towing before deciding, then it would be only a matter of swapping out the Airlift 1000 bags from Ram-Grand Cherokee along with the new springs.

Whats the load rating on your 22" R/T tires? That may be a factor too.
