Ok everyone which one would you choose and why? From what I have read and been told by ALPHAREX themselves the LUXX series has the built in (house) leds and the Pro only has halogens. But you can of course upgrade the PRO series to some good hid or leds ...

Is the extra $260 worth getting teh LUXX series with the built in leds and what if they burn out? How easy is it to replace? Those are answers I couldn't get from ALPHAREX.

I will getting one or the other but would like everyone's opinions and suggestions about what you would get and what is more worth it.

They both look exactly the same except for the insides.

I put a poll please take part in it to see what everyone thinks...

I have the V1 DT-style (non-Luxx) on my truck. Bought them just before they released V2.

Modded my V1 to work basically like the V2 - upper and lower strips are DRL, lower is switchback sequential turn signal.

Used Katana LEDs for low beam, Hikari for high beam (different brands because I got them at different times on sale)

Only have one small oddity with them, but overall I love them. They look great on the truck and the LEDs perform great at night. The only advantage I could see with the Luxx model is if they changed the innards to support LEDs from the beginning. They might end up brighter/more focused vs using LED "bulbs".

Worth the extra $260? If you could replace the LEDs if they blow out, then yes. Otherwise I would stick with the V2 non-Luxx and buy yourself some LED bulbs.

I ordered the same ones as you during the labor day sale.

I'm going to use these Aukee LEDs https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V3875FB

I currently have Cougar motor LEDs in my quads and those are bright.

With those Cougars in my quads I had no errors and didn't change anything with AlphaOBD but think with the Aukee I may need to because they push selling a decoder cable...

You definitely can not change the led’s in any LED based projector. The led chips are built internally into the sealed projector. Now if you were to open up the housings, and un-mount the projector, you can either replace the entire thing with a new one, or you can open the projector up and replace the led chips (high expertise required). But there is no way the LED’s are serviceable from the back dust caps on any led projector on the market.

Luxx series. AlphaRex now has 3 version for the 4th gen Rams.

Pro Series: Least expensive ($300-$475); Takes halogen H7 bulbs.
Luxx Series: Mid-range pricing ($700+ range); LED Projectors, unique startup sequence, brighter led DRL’s.
Nova Series: Most expensive ($1000+ range); 4 LED projectors per light, AlphaRex patented “ice cube” projector technology.
