If I raise the front with those shocks, will I be squatting in the back while towing if I don't do anything to the rear?

I am also wondering if add in shocks to the front will change how my truck rides and handles will it be better or worse or the same? Thanks for your patience with me.

Convert, for now.

The rear will remain same, your not adding softer springs in the rear. If it sags, just add some Airlift bags.

I picked up a skid of topsoil in my truck and I went a bit nose high. Makes sense, the reason for the factory rake in the first place is to keep the truck level under load. Wasn't terrible, in my opinion. And as others said, add air bags or stiffer springs in the back if it's that much of a concern.

The Bils did alter the ride, or at least my perception of it. Personally, I like it better. It seems less mushy than factory and made it feel more substantial, more like a truck.

Here's a side by side image of my truck with the 2.1 Bils and one larger tire size from stock (275/65r20 vs 275/60r20) next to my coworker's stock truck. I think that simple front level along with a slightly larger tire makes my truck look 100x more aggressive than his. Sure I could've gone "wilder," but I'm really happy with the way it is right now.

You truck does look more aggressive. I am going to see if I can get the Toyo in a 275 65R20 at a reasonable price, and then maybe add those Bils.

Thanks for helping me!

Sure man! Like I said, I could've stuffed a bigger tire in there, but with this size I didn't have to worry about any rubbing and those larger sizes increase the cost exponentially.

I'm guessing this is a dumb question. 65 is the height? (in 65R20)? I know 20 is the rim. I have a 9.0 20 inch rim I think.

Do the Bils first then tires. Add Bags to the rear For towing. And just go 35’s when you get tires. You’ll be happier! Also recommend the Ridge Grapplers. I ran the 35x12.5R20 12ply. Tires handled excellently in the ****** winter weather hear in NY.

Think I'm gonna go with the Toyo tires, and the Bil shocks in front. 275 60R20s will run me about 1k it looks like. Should I step up in tire size?

how much money are you prepared to spend. i think a little wider and a little taller is always an improvement if you're leveled or lifted on the 1500s. problem here in canada is its like 30 to 60% higher price to go bigger. i'm betting not as much a diff in US but still read lots of posts from US folks who complain about the difference in stock to optional size changes.

Probably a few hundred bucks. My truck doesn't squat at all with the landscape trailer. In fact, it is still nose down even when I only have 1 mower on it up front (mower ways about 1k lbs and it is right up tight to the front of the trailer).

I'd like to put the shocks up front, and I'd like to bump up the tire size a bit if I can do so without having rubbing issues.

You should be able to clear 35’s easily with the bils. Rubbing will depend on which rims you plan to run.....also the fender liners can be trimmed/heated and bent with little effort if you have minor rubbing on them.

So if I wanted to put on Toyo 285 65R20's they should fit fine then, right?! That seems like it would be a good direction to go???

Hello there -

I am new here, and looking for some help buying tires.

I have a 2015 RAM 1500 and love it. It has the Mopar Performance Exhaust, Mopar CAT, tinted all around and blacked out, and has a 3.92 rear end. I do not have any sort of lift kit installed, and because my manhood resides in my wife's purse at this time, I will not be lifting it... maybe too much info there (sorry!)

I currently have Michlin Defender LTX M/S's in a 275 60R20, and I didn't care for their performance during the winter months in the snow and slop. I have been thinking about trying to go to a 285 65R20 if possible. Many of the people I have spoken to, suspect they wouldn't fit well without raising the truck. Any suggestions for me? Some of the tires I was considering were (in no particular order):

Bf Goodrich KO2's (most tell me they'd ride poorly thiugh)though

Falken's

Nitto Terra

I would love to get my truck a bit higher (if possible) without a lift kit. I want a more aggressive tire too. I would love to read what some of you think. Thx in advance
BFG Rugged Terrain 285's
