Installed my maxtrac kit on my 2020 and having the bottoming issue in the rear when it hits the bump stops. In the front I get a rub on dips and when turning all the way im on the stock 18s with 275/65/18. Another thing is i get a wobble in the rear when going 75+
Hey my brother!!! Let me guess.... your 20’ has the Etorque???
I have the Etorque HEMI and I also had the same issue! When I first got the kit installed the truck seemed to ride on the rear bump stops and it was beating it to hell. I have been working with JJ from Maxtrac(HUGE APPLAUSE to Maxtrac for their CS, these guys truly do care). I got some measurements of ride height and sent them to JJ and it seemed that my DS rear coil had collapsed. I got another set of springs for the rear and my ride quality improved greatly in the rear.
I chose a local company listed on MT’s website as a dealer/installer of their’s to which you would think would fix a warranty issue free of charge, but NOPE and another $800 later I had the new rear springs installed and I am very pleased with the difference in the ride quality after getting the new set of springs on.
I am having the same issue with my front bottoming out on the slightest dip in the road at highway speeds, and it seems to be worse on my DS. Last week on a trip to Columbia SC, for a VA appointment, I went over a fairly big dip on the highway and my DS bottomed out into my fender liner so bad that it ripped my “Rock Light” completely out of the liner. The light was mounted in a “recessed” area just above the tire(almost like it was made for the light pod)so..... after speaking with JJ again he mentioned that apparently the Etorque models are significantly “HEAVIER” than ones without it, but I have lowered every truck I have ever owned and have never experienced anything like this. I had a 16’ CC Sport and ACCORDING TO DODGE, my 20’ CC Laramie 4x4 w/Etorque is approximately almost 300lbs lighter than previous model trucks, even with the 48v batteries, but JJ said they are only seeing this issue so far on the Etorque models.
Most people would probably take the manufacture’s specifications over an aftermarket companies, but after my 6-9 months of communication with JJ @ MT, I have NO REASON WHATSOEVER to not believe what MT is saying.
These guys are ENTHUSIASTS just like all of us, JJ is not just some guy sitting at a computer that drives a Prius and trying to give information on a subject that they are not familiar with, so.....
I am NOT sure what the fix is, but when you find a better/stiffer option for the front then please let me know!
**I am now running 295/35/24’s, but my factory 22’s on 285/45/22’s are what ripped my light out****
