My apologies if the answers to my question(s) are out there and my searches missed them.
My 2018 RAM 5.7L has 134K miles, and over the past 7 to 10 days I have been noticing a new growl or rumble and a subtle vibration in the driver seat when MDS 4-cylinder mode engages under load. It doesn't do this if in a downhill coast - only on the flat or slight uphill. The rumble stops the instant the engine goes back to all eight cylinders.
I'm suspecting worn/hardened mounts on engine or transmission that no longer isolate the coarser 4-cylinder mode vibrations. It's definitely not valvetrain related. Could be exhaust hangers or positioning. Any other thoughts ?? I don't think my truck has a diverter valve in the exhaust that triggers with 4-cylinder mode - I know some manufacturers do that, but I've never seen any mention of one on our HEMI's.
I'm hoping someone with similar truck and miles has already experienced this and fixed it.
Thanks for ideas and simplest things to check first.
