My 2014 was built in the Mexican plant. I looked it over good before buying, and after I got it home. Everything lined up perfectly, no rattles, really built well. The Mexican plant was their #1 truck plant for awhile I read, at least THIS Ram came out well.

We also own a 2004 Crossfire which is basically a Mercedes 320 with Chrysler badging, it too is a quality vehicle.

Any other Mexican Ram owners notice any good/bad about YOUR truck and what if any are your thoughts on this?

Currently FCA produces Ram trucks as follows:

Warren Michigan
  • Ram 1500 series, all crew cab and double cab models for the global market are assembled here except for the Ram 1500 Laramie, which is built at both the Warren facility and Ram's Saltillo Assembly for the Mexican market.
Saltillo Truck Assembly, Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The plant manufactures the full range of the Ram truck series as well as the DX Chassis cab and ProMaster van.

The following pickup models are built at the plant:
  • Ram 1500 all regular cab models of various trim levels sold globally are manufactured at the facility as is the crew cab Ram 1500 Laramie for the Mexican market.
  • Ram 2500 all models of various trim levels, cab type, and bed length. Vehicles built here are sold globally.
  • Ram 3500 all models of various trim levels, cab type, and bed length. Vehicles built here are sold globally.

My 2014 & 2017 2500 series trucks were both built in Mexico. I have had no huge quality issues although my 2014 came with the undersized wrist pin issue but that was sorted out pretty quickly with a new engine installed by FCA.

Nothing else has come up on either vehicle except for some technical service bulletins - all taken care of by Ram - and some onerous DPF/DEF system issues on the 2017 which I fixed. I can't lay those issues at the feet of the assembly plant in Mexico.

Mine was built at Warren.

It has dust in the paint in a few spots.

A week after I first got it in 2013, I noticed the cab was crooked on the frame. The space between the cab and the bed was really different on each side. The drivers side rubber seal was crushed up against the cab and the passengers side had a good half inch clearance. Didn't notice it when I bought it because I didn't even think to look for something like that. I mean wtf. They had to lift the cab off the frame and set it down square on the frame. They had it for a 4 days. When I went to pick the truck up, I went over it with a fine tooth comb when before I drove it off the dealers lot. That was when the Ram 1500 was Motor Trends Truck of the Year so I used that as leverage to get them to fix it.

Other than that, build quality on my truck has been really good. I'm pretty impressed overall with how well my truck is holding up after 5 years.
