Hey everyone, new member here. I've searched the forum and can't find exactly what I'm looking for so I'll pester everyone and ask it here. haha.

Ok, I have a 2016 with only a 2" Rough Country level. I'm buying Michelin Defender 35x12.5x20's to mount on my stock chrome clad 20x8's. I also ordered a Rough Country .25" spacer just incase there's any rubbing.

My question is does anyone here have a similar setup that I could see pictures of? Also any advice would be cool, too. I went with the Michelins because I'm not trying to totally destroy my MPG. I know they aren't the most aggressive-looking 35's. I attached a picture of my truck with just the 2" RC level with stock wheels & tires. Thanks all!

Something is telling me that a 20x8 weel with a 12.5 inch tire is going to have a big sidewall bulge

I wouldn’t do it personally. (1) The rim is way to narrow
(2) the center section of the tread will wear out supper fast as it’s the only contact point with the road.
(3) the bead won’t sit square with the rim lid it’ll be at an angle. Thus causing the tire to be susceptible blow out. If you were to hit a chug hole at highway speed the tire could come unseated from the rim. End result your upside down in the ditch. Then after the meat wagon loads you up your next thought will be: **** why didn’t I just but some wider rims...

Now here’s the meat n potatoes:
You need a 9.5-11” wide rim. 10” being the optimum size.
Also you must consider the backspacing and offset of the wheels. Ask n I’ll give ya more in put on those measurements

Are you sure they're not 20x9? On my 2017,they are. I'm running 305/55/20,with no issues at all.

You could pick an AT tire for better offroad performance and look, you'll loose MPG no mattter what going with 35's, so going with a soft looking highway big tire wouldn't give you much back in that department, plus an all terrain tire will have better sidewalk if you have a 4x4 truck and planning to do some wheeling, and still give you better MPG than for example similar size MT's, which will look even better.

I don't know if you'll be able to fit a 12.5 tire on stock offset wheels, and i'd think .25" spacers will be too small, but i'm sure there are people here that know exactly what the minimun offset/backspace needed to run 35x12.5, i had a similar question, but my offset was -12 on 17x9 wheels, which is 4.5" backspace, pretty much the standard for 35/37's in a lot of other offroad applications.

Lots of mis-information in here. 12.5” wides will fit on those wheels just fine.

You can run them on an 8” wide rim as others have shown.......just be prepared for the possibility of uneven wear, not saying it will happen but it may. If you are really concerned, check out the tire’s specs in a 295/65/20.............its actually 35.1” tall (the 35’s are 34.5” tall) and recommended for an 8” wide rim. Either way i’d love to see some pics, i keep thinking about going with these next time around.

Almost did last time until my wife questioned if they looked aggressive enough for my lifted truck.............just wanted to hug her at that moment and on went the MT’s! But seriously, the sidewall isnt the flashiest but the tread is decently deep for an All-season and i keep pondering a set of smooth riding tires. Plenty of friends and family run them and i always find myself looking at them for way too long.
