I like everything you got going on there man. Been toying around with some ideas to get ride of that ****** flap and make a cowl or funnel with wiremesh across the face of it. And have it bolt up underneath.

have someone laser cut you some small gears out of steel, then thread the centers and use them as wing nuts. I think it would look cool.

That sounds cool!

Thanks man! I like what you are thinking...

I think that we may see a DavidRam booth for Ram mods at SEMA one of these days! That red billet knob idea is awesome DERJ. I am only half joking about SEMA, too. I like my Vararam, but it seriously could use more for and finish refinement. I'd buy a dress up kit like this...

You should put your DR in red or something somewhere on your filter cover plate thing.

Thanks for the ideas guys! If I can find some billet ones in red, I think that would be awesome... Really, any style nut to match my caps would be cool. They are 1/4"-20, having a hard time find that size. :(

they make polished engraved bolts. in a 12 point star bolt you can get the mopar sign engraved onto the nut. kinda cool actually. I dont know where to find them but i have seen them before. might be something to consider for the bolts to hold it in?

You could order some cigarette lighter covers from BT then just drill and tap the back side and use washers/spacers to get the right amount of hold-down on the top panel. They're about 3/8" thick IIRC and come with knurled sides for good grip.

I had been thinking about using their stuff...
1. I could order the new "sig series" a/c caps, replace the older version that I have, and use my old one's to make some bolt covers (or vice versa) = $129.
2. I could order the new oil dipstick handles and chop them up to work = $129.
3. Like you said, use the cig lighter covers = $56.

:hmm:

Modifying and reinstalling the plastic shroud for the rad support was the quickest way for me to get the filter shroud secure. I haven't noticed any intake temp variations with the shroud off or on. The trimmed out area allows airflow and the plastic shroud keeps the corners of the filter shroud level and movement free.

Tried out a couple things to finish off the top cover piece... Added a strip of aluminum, that was a little too busy. I am liking the billet red covers on the nuts, they are sorta bullet shaped.

Happy 4th! :favorites13:

Very nice! The bolt covers and carbon fiber wrap ties it all in...
