i was wondering if anyone has used sheet metal in there intake to fill in some of the empty space and possibly make the intake more like a dual plain intake instead of a single plain intake? i know i have seen people who filled part of there intake with what i think was resin or something but i don't trust myself or that stuff so i was possibly thinking about using metal. thinking about using the divider to hold everything in place. any input would be great.

Good question for sure. Maybe the Mods can move this over to the pre 94 section. I can say I used to play a bit with these earlier motors and would suggest you need to save up your dough for an edelbrock intake which would be a step closer to a matched with cam and carb set-up. Love the Ramcharger BTW, remember in the Army when we had those brand spankin new!

thanks. my ramcharger is multi port fuel injected.

ya but who said i was talking about a first gen? most first gen trucks do not have huge half keg size intakes with lots of extra space inside them. this is what i am looking at modding.

Your 81 with the Carb it what I was on about. I owned an 87 fifth avenue with early 80's distr./ignition swap to rid the lean burn set-up. I'll let you get back to your thread.

I assumed you were talking about G1 because those were your pictures, and your vehicles listed were 81, 91, and 93 in your profile. The very nature of direct-port-fuel-injection makes dual-plane irrelevant. ALL newer EFI systems use an open-plenum style intake. There is nothing to be gained by creating a dual-plane intake for them.

well you know what they say about people who assume. they make an @s$ out of U and me. some of those new fancy intake like the one on hughes engines website look to be dual plane.
