Moe's Throttle Body Dyno Results

Yesterday we had a customer do a before and after dyno with one of our new 85mm Ported Throttle Bodies. I am amazed at the results. His truck s a 2009 with a Vararam Cold air intake, Aero Turbine 3030XL Muffler, Magnaflow Y-pipe, 180* Thermostat, Diablo 93 octane tune, and an electric fan. His first pull with these mods made 301hp/325tq at the rear wheels. After this, he installed our 85mm ported throttle body which took all of 5 minutes. He made 2 more pulls and both were the same...327hp/349tq. That is a gain of 26hp/24tq at the rear wheels with a simple 5 minute modification. It doesnt get much better than that.

You are the first person I thought of when my customer told me what he gained because that is the exact number you said you felt from the TB.

Guys, I am not at all trying to blow up numbers here just to sell a part. This dyno was done by a customer that I have never met before. I also did not believe the numbers when he emailed them to me, so I asked again if there were any other changes between the 3 pulls. He swore up and down that the only change was the TB.

I dont at all expect everyone to see this kind of gain with the TB. I even have it on the site to expect only 8-12hp, and I have said from day 1 that the biggest benefit to this mod is going to be the increased throttle response.

Many things can affect your numbers at the dyno. Just a couple weeks ago a member posted that his 05 made 298hp/315tq with a custom tune, longtube headers, intake, and exhaust. My 03 made 307hp and 351tq with a cheap Superchips tune, longtubes, and intake. That guy had better mods than I did, yet my dyno showed an extra 9hp/36tq. Temperature, humidty, gearing, tire size, and dyno operator all play a big part is what numbers you make on the dyno.

I am trying to schedule a dyno day for monday or tuesday, hopfully i will be able to do 2 runs without it costing too much, also it says with each run you get a cool picture of your car with the results on it lol.

Most shops charge $50-$100 for 3 pulls. Keep me posted if you end up putting the truck on the rollers.

It also depends on the type of dyno he tested on. A dynojet will show slightly higher numbers than a mustang dyno.

Another thing I have noticed with this ported throttle body, is that my idle is smoother when using my 91 Octane Tune.
It used to jump from 500rpm or 600rpm up +100rpms and then back down every now and then.
Much smoother now, I guess the extra air helps.

I Got mine at Moes and it,s Ok however had to remove the knife edge as the truck would stall or go into limpe mode at -10. Since these 85mm tbs are not ported straight thru i just swapped in the oem plate and was good to go. No noticeable gain in overall quickness of the truck 0-60 but a nice throttle response. A ported TB on the LX cars is a waste of dough, well thats what Stu at Inertia said when he tuned my Car.

When did you order your TB? I have only sold 1 03 TB, and it just shipped yesterday to a customer in Dallas. If you have 1 of the old Moe's TB's from the previous owner, it is a completely different design then what we have now. We do not even touch the plate on our current TB's.

**I just did a search on your posts, and you were running the old TB that was being sold by the previous owner. Our new design will not throw any codes, will not run rough, or cause the truck to go into limp mode. I will personally guarantee this. If anyone buys our TB and throws a CEL because of it, I will take it back for a full refund and I will pay the return shipping...no questions asked. That is how confident I am in our new design.
