I just installed mine this weekend, and it went pretty well, took about 45 minutes, and I’m very happy with it. Some pics in this thread on a different board.
It’s very well designed IMO. I had one on my Titan and this one is very tucked up, just a tiny tab stick out. Ordered from MoparAmerica.com and had it inside a week.
Mine came with the step so I can't speak to installation. I'm not a big fan of the steps as they usually are a bulky, obnoxious (deployed or retracted), ground clearance robbing eyesore.
That being said this is the only bed step that I have ever liked. It is incredibly low profile, solid when retracted (doesn't rattle/bounce around), and sturdy when you step on it.
Except for the foot tab it is nearly impossible to see when it is retracted...
When it is deployed it is very sturdy, provides plenty of room to step onto it, and provides a solid no-slip surface while you're reaching into the bed...
