Hey guys, I found a video a few days ago but can’t find it now of how to clock the LED bulbs in the ram vertical fogs. I just got and installed my morimoto 2stroke 2.0 LED bulbs and want to make sure I have them clocked correctly. If my memory serves me right the chip board should be vertical with the chips facing 9 & 3 right?
I have attached a pic to see the position.
Also side note the 2stroke 2.0s seem like a nice product. Only thing I’m not a fan of so far is how the bulbs are clocked. It’s a bulb holder seems like metal or plastic and the bulb has 3 silicone rings for an interference fit to the holder. Since you can’t really tell when they are fully clocked in the housing it’s easy to over clock them by continuing to turn the bulb in the bulb holder. Other than that the bulbs seem nice and the color is pure white (not blue) which I don’t want. I have FXR 3.0 retrofitted sport headlights with 5500k XB HId bulbs and morimoto Elite 50w ballasts. Which together is a white/slight yellow output so I wanted something to match. I’m sick of HIDs in the fogs and all the wiring and crap. So I went back to stock fogs with halogens and they work fine but hate how yellow they are of course. Figured these are the closest Quality LEDs to 5k temp so I’m gona rock them.
UPDATE:
Said screw it and decided to test them as is. Bulbs seemed to be positioned right. Output is pretty good, slightly more glare than the stock halogen bulbs but not stupid bright like HIDs. Output is def more than halogen with a smidge more glare but still has the decent fog light cutoff that the ram
Vertical fogs provide. The color match is perfect with my 5500k XB HID bulbs and 50w morimoto elite ballasts in FXR 3.0 retrofitted sport headlights. The headlights are stupid bright so the fogs honestly don’t do much but I hated the yellow on the sides. Very happy thus far and like I said they are brighter and clean white output. Side note which I got 2 different answers from TRS was needing resistors, one said I would and the others said I wouldn’t. Ends up being that you DONT! Just plug em in and go! Which is nice and not needed to deal with extra crap like HIDs. Overall it was a win, got extra light, not enough to get flashed, matched my headlights and no extra crap to fail.
These are rated at 23W, 2440 raw lumens at 5500k.
these go for $120 and I used a 15% off promo code which ended up being $102 and after tax $108 with free shipping.
