Lumens also at a single hot spot vs lumens say 15 degrees off center as well. Might have a nice bright spot front and center like the Morimoto MLED but once you get off center the D2S projector is better in all other categories other than hotspot. But still the MLED has more lumens and yet the D2S is better light.

Morimoto is a very reputable company that makes quality products. I think concern over the performance of these headlights is being blown out of proportion. So far they just had a 3d printed model. Let’s wait for the production series and actual output shots before placing judgement on them.
I have Morimoto low beams (HID 35W) and Morimoto LED Fogs. Very happy with them, quality components for sure.

The only product I gave up on were the 2stroke leds in my fog housing. But then again any bulbs with exposed fans or heat distributing mesh failed in my fog lights. When they go in the headlights they are covered and work fine.

My morimoto XB fog light housings are perfect though because they are enclosed.

I like the way they look, just waiting for a review. :)

I'd generally agree if they weren't pushing so hard for preorders without any kind of light output pics or vids whatsoever. Any type of light out there on the market has night shots as a selling point, but they do not.

I really like the looks of the headlights. It's unfortunate at this stage we don't know if the white DRL's will stay lit with the DRL's activated for day time driving. Another point is the lumens... if you're pushing a pre-order product, have all the spec information avaliable.

I like the Ram aftermarket fog lights and would have ordered them. But after reading the reviews that they are crap and really only just look nice is a disappointment. I think they compliment these new headlights really well.

I talked with TRS on facebook and they basically told me they won't be as bright as upgraded projectors with HIDS but will be plenty brighter than anything stock. I'd assume they know what they are talking about. I'm still on the fence but I'd say odds are I order in next few days

I saw that they said this as well, and that isn't very promising. It's not only how bright they are but how far down the road they project that matters. if they are very bright but only project half the distance of HID's, I just don't see the value of having them beyond the cool look they provide.

Yeah that could be a big deal. I guess I mainly care about them beating stock. I don't have HIDS nor even projectors at the moment. I could see if I had HIDS I wouldn't drop to something worse. Or even if I had black projectors now I'd probably just add HIDS to them. But in my situation if they are better than the stock quads all around, but not as good as HIDS I'm probably in

Well I'm in. Mostly for looks if anything else. I hope the output will be good.

I couldn't agree more! This is a double edged sword for me. On one hand LED's in factory fog housing are MUCH brighter but fail me after a solid winter exposed to corrosion. On the other hand my Morimoto vertical XB fogs look great on the truck, are sealed so no corrosion, but barely throw light at 1200 lumens. The fact they are sealed and winter is around the corner is the only reason I havn't switched back. I'm still undecided :(

So I tried to order late last night and the Retroshop coupon had just expired. I'm assuming they will have more. Anyone know is there a certain time of year that RS or TRS will have a bigger sale potentially that I should just wait for?

Also is there even a reason to pre order? I'm assuming they will just get a bunch in and you can just buy them in December. I guess unless they sell out and you have to wait until like February or something.

I'm impatient and hate buying something and waiting 3 months to get it haha

Yeah usually TRS has a black Friday sale and they discount things pretty good. Retroshop usually never discounts anything but with these that could be different.

On morimoto's website they raised the MSRP of these headlights to $1625 and everyone seems to have them listed for $1350 so I wonder if that will deter any discounts until sale weekends.

I could still get 10% at TRS since they keep sending me a coupon code since I had it in my cart but didn't buy. Assuming I can probably always get that one. But tempted to wait until black friday and see what happens. Money is burning a hole in my pocket though

Could do something cheeky like cancel your pre-order and then order again if they offer a better discount. Or just e-mail whoever you buy from and see if they'll honor it.

With these being a pre-order though I'm not sure they'll be included this year.

Pulled the trigger and going to leave it alone for 3 months.

Thought of that but then didn't know if being a pre order there is even a cancellation option. I have a local retro fitting shop as well I could see if he's able to get them just to support the local dude. He's usually priced pretty well.

Yea TRS runs a 30% off almost every year for Black Friday and usually 4th of July as well far as I can remember. Not sure if these will be valid for that discount being on preorder or not but I doubt it. I would probably jump on these if they throw 30% off them...
