don't mean to beat a dead horse here, but I have a couple of questions regarding gears for the 4th gens.... i currently have 3.55 but I'm wanting to get 4.10. if I get the 4.10 would i need to change or upgrade the torque converter as well, like what the R/T's have?

also, for those who already have 4.10's on their trucks, at what RPM are you at on the highway when running around 70-75?

Gears and tq converter are completely different parts, so you can do 1 at a time without any problems. Now, if you have an open diff, I would definately consider throwing an LSD in there if you are going to step up to 4.10's.

Have a question... If I go with the 4:10's, would the mini install kit work for it or do I need to use the master install kit? What are the main differences between the two?

You still want to use a master install kit. The master kit comes with new bearings and the mini kits do not.

And I still have the gears marked down at the sale price I listed earlier in this thread.

Correct. Your truck has the same 9.25" rear diff as the 02-2010 trucks.

Ok thanks... one more question and I'll be done. I have open diff, would that work alright with the 4.10's or would I need to get an LSD?

It will work, but a LSD would help you out alot. With the 4.10's you are going to come off the line harder, and that open diff is going to make it tough to get traction.

If an LSD is something that you think you will want in the end, then hold off until you can swing both. Labor on gear swaps isnt something most people can do in their driveway, so I would hate for you to have to pay for the labor twice if you ended up adding the LSD down the road.

Yes we do. We offer the Auburn and Detroit Trutrac. Both are great units, and will hold up to just about anything you can put it through.

The clips in the factory LSD unit have been known to fail, and can in turn damage your rear diff. The DTT does not have any clutches or friction plates like the factory LSD, so there is no matinnance required. This also makes it a much stronger unit that can take more abuse both on and off road.

Yes, both the Auburn and the DTT are much stronger than the factory LSD.
