For a limited time, we have our Motive 4.10 and 4.56 gears marked down from $209.99 to $194.99 per set. This is for either the rear 9.25 or front 8" differentials. These heavy trucks sometimes need a little extra push to get going, and upgrading to a set of Motive 4.10's or 4.45's is exactly what you need. And dont forget that shipping always FREE at Moe's.

Master install kits have also been marked down to help sweaten the deal...

And last but not least, dont forget about replcing that rusted rear differential cover with a quality cover from PML or Mag Hytec. Both covers include a drain plug for clean fluid changes, and the Mag Hytec even includes a built in dip stick to check fluid levels in a matter of seconds. The increased fluid capacity and cooling fins will help prolong the life of your expensive limited slip unit.

Labor can be expensive, and being 4wd can rack up the cost as well. Most shops charge around $250-$400 per axle for labor. It should never cost $2k though unless you are 4wd, getting front and rear gears with install kits AND adding a better limited slip unit or rear locker.

I also have never done my own gear install. This was one of those mods that I was nervous about doing myself.

Gears and install kit is all that is needed. The 2wd trucks have it easy because you can have all the parts you need for less than $300 to your door.

but with 4.56's wouldn't you need a LSD to keep from spinning at every red light?

that extra expense is what has kept me from doing this.

What's great about gears is that you can have a bone stock truck and still see a HUGE gain from them. Many motor mods like an intake and exhaust work best when used together, but gears are going to show great gains reguardless of your engine mods.

Where are they getting $4k? I'm sure someone on the forum can direct you to a shop that isnt tryng to bend you over backwards.

It will be on your build sheet, or sometimes there is a sticker on the axle itself telling you what you have.

If I could find a shop that will install my gears under 4k I will do it. 4k is just too much money for gears if you ask me.

after all that money you've spent at Chux........them assholes! :Wedgie:
