I have an 18 crew sb with the 5.7. I’ve been looking around but don’t know if it’s worth it in this market. Things are tight and trade in offers are low from what I hear. I get about 14mpg. What are others with the 5.7 getting, can I squeeze more out of it or is this is good as it gets?

What tires are on it and what pressure are you running on them?
Is it leveled or stock?

14 is pretty damn good homie .... I am getting 13-15 right now in town but get as high as 18-20 on long highway trips ...

I do have 37s with 4.88 gears which helped get the mpgs back up, when I first got the truck lifted with the 37s with 3.21s I was getting low 11s and 12s lol ....

MPG is very subjective. It varies greatly depending upon driving habits, road conditions, idle time, the vehicles equipment and even weather can make a difference. With that said, my 21 BTS crew cab which is bone stock gets between 14 and 15 city driving and up to 18/19 on the highway

I agree 100% with this ... I always have my A/C on and whenever I go somewhere especially in the heat I keep the truck running with the A/C on waiting for my wife while she shops or runs in to get some fast food .... I am pretty sure my MPG could go up by 2 more mpgs if I didn't do that ...

I also love the sound of the Carven on my truck so I like to have fun with it especially around town lol ...

If the little improvement in MPG you get effects your life ... you have many other issues.

One trip I take is about 175 miles round trip. It's about 40% interstate, 40% highway / back roads, and 20% in town with a few stop signs and lights. Also around three pit stops where I shut off the truck. I can average 21 mpg if I behave myself. Of course this is the trip computer calculation. It may be off a little but should be quite close. My truck is a 2017 quad cab hemi 8-speed with 3.92 gears and stock 20-in tires. I certainly can't justify trading it for a 2.7 Ford EcoBoost to pickup around 3 mpg more.

This is really interesting to me as a new RAM 1500 owner. I have a stock 2020 Laramie 1500 CC, 5.7 HEMI etorque. Got it in July with a bit over 36K on the clock. Haven’t started a mileage log yet, so have been using only the computer. With that, the computer shows 22-25 for highway/interstate driving and 17-19 around town. I find these numbers surprising good but suspicious to say the least. As I drive it more, the highway numbers have come down some to 20-22. My wife likes it a lot, so she drives it whenever she can. Bouncing between us two and our driving style effects the mpg.

The computer only shows the average over the past few hundred miles - maybe 500 miles or something like that, I forget if the exact amount has been reported.
Most think it is lifetime average and unless they changed it on the 5th gen, it should be like the 4th gen and only be the ave. over a few hundred miles.

14 is better then what I got, that's as good as it gets unless you are running bigger aggressive tires and can down size to a more street friendly tread....

Very true. My '22 1500 5.7L with the 3:21's is within a gnats hair of yours. We're taking it on it's inagural road trip tomorrow. If it gets anywhere close to 20 overall when we return I'll be quite happy. If it doesn't this is still the nicest truck I've ever owned, and I will be fine with whatever it shows.

It’s stock with master craft axts. I knew going in I wasn’t gonna get the mileage of a civic but just thought I’d ask and see where everyone else was at.

2019 Tradesman....5.7 Hemi....3.92 rear....4x4.....crew cab....tow package.....I consistently get 20 to 21 mpg.....15 to 17 mpg towing a 3500 trailer. We do very little big city driving......mostly two lane roads and highway. I love our mileage.

A 1500 is a big difference from a 2500 HD truck....

Agree.

I have a 2500 6.4l and I just like the ride.

When I get into a small car, that is low to the ground - it frightens me!

Tires might be costing you a little bit but no more than 1-2 mpg I would think.
Your mpg is probably about where most are with a 2500 and 5.7 and I think you have the 6 speed trans, right?

My 2013 1500 4x4 RAM is pretty much stock. I get 17 to 18 on the highway if I drive the 65 MPH Speed Limit. 15 to 16, if I do 70.
