Hi all! I got a 2019 Ram and the previous owner did a muffler delete, but kept the resonators. It sounds good, but has drone while cruising. What's a good size muffler to put in to get rid of the drone, but still have a nice sound?

I can get the stock muffler. Would that with 5" tips give it a little rumble? Or are the tips just cosmetic?

I got a Magnaflow 12259 put in, and it sounds much better. Quiet when cruising, but has a nice rumble when accelerating hard. I will probably get some 5" tips on the future as well.

This is the muffler installed. I asked about the rear weld, as it looks like the exhaust size gets reduced, then brought up again. The guy says it didn't matter because the size drops down anyways. Is this a restriction? Is it worth fixing?

It may have been nothing, but it bugged me, so I got it fixed.

I would have done this ... it might be under the truck out of site and mind, but still, I'm just as cosmetic on the bottom as the top.

I don't know about that weld job, I'd left there and have someone else lay down a smooth and pretty weld, but that's me, lol.

I know the welds aren't the best looking, but as long as it's not leaking, I'm fine with it

I would have been very irritated with that first patch job.
Every muffler shop has a full set of adaptors, an expansion tool & grinding tools.

some shops make their own adaptors

I use my pipe expander a fair bit,and find you have to take smaller shots at expanding stainless exhaust pipe,as you can't do it all at once, like he was trying to do.
