What is the typical cost a shop charges to weld on a muffler and run some pipe back to dump over the rear axle? Going to get it done tomorrow and I got quoted $50. Pretty fair I think, don't ya'll?

That's not a bad price. If the shop is close to home they usually charge a little less if you cut it yourself and then take it in there to get it hung and welded. At least most shops around here do that.

My local shop quoted me 300 to swap mufflers. That is the muffler and swap. Going to talk to another guy tomorrow.

The shop I went to charged 50 for the work for a muffler swap which was cutting the old one off and welding the new one plus the extended tubing to compensate for the flow masters shorter length. I thought it was a very fair price

Big thing to keep in mind is what type of pipe they are using. Many shops use cheap pipe that will rust in a few years rather than 10+ years maybe you are okay with that maybe you are not but there is a difference so make sure you ask if it is stainless or not.

THIS^^^^'

Another thing to keep in mind, make sure any piping is mandrel bent and NOT crimp bends...the crimps are water traps and will rust out, also it hinders exhaust flow.
