Hello there, new to the forums. Just purchased a 2012 1500 hemi 5.7 regular cab and absolutely I love it. I've been searching forums and youtube for what type of exhaust that would sound good and I think I'm going with the mufflex. Not sure if I want 14" or 18" yet. But my question is, how would these sound dumped? I really just don't like the look of my exhaust showing. Never have. I've yet to find anything about dumping these. exhaust.

If you're going to dump the exhaust I'd just go with a regular weld on magnaflow and save some money. The mufflex kit is designed to be a direct bolt on replacement for the dual exhaust trucks and aren't cheap.

What type of magnaflow would u suggest. I don't know much about them, I've always went with flowmasters. I've heard magnaflow is the best but only hear about the mufflex.

Mufflex is just magna flow mufflers in a bolt on set up. I'd really like my exhaust dumped but can't find an alternative for the rear bumper cut outs

But are there different series in the magnaflows? Like flowmaster has the 40s, 44s, 50s, etc..or is it basically just the length that determines the sound? Also would still get an increase in mpg by dumping them? Not expecting much. But any help wouldn't hurt.

i just got the magnaflow 14" muffler and had it welded in place since the bolt on cat back was like 700 bucks if i remember right and the muffler was 100 and it was 50 for the install.. and yea its the length 14 is the most agressive then theres the 18 and 24" which is the most mild..theres a thread with exhaust clips on the top of the 4th gen section

I looked through the clips...I may have missed but never seen one where they had it dumped. Also I've found a 14" on ebay for 60 bucks...that sounds too cjeap

i got the 18" magnaflow (model #12278) from Moe's being at $100 and got it installed for $100. this choice for me was absolutely perfect. i didn't want to set off car alarms but at the same time wanted to be heard. i also didn't want the drone noise in the cab at the annoying level where i find myself speaking louder and louder to anyone in the truck. i have notice a very slight difference in gas changes for the better. i have been getting good complements on the sound. if this helps you in choosing your muffler then its thanks to the others in the forum cause they have been giving the best info i can get for this truck.

Got the 14 inch single in dual out dumped yesterday, and must say I couldn't be happier
Everyone around here gets flowmasters..EVERYONE. this may not be as loud as some of the higher end fm series but the tone and rumble is beautiful and blows them out the water. Thanks for the input guys.
