With all the gear ratio discussions I was curious to see how the "White whale" would do on a road trip, especially since I tach 1950 rpm @ 70 with the 3.92's.

Had headwinds going up and did some 75+ which ate the gas, but made up for it doing 45-55 through towns and the mountains. Those downhill stretches really bring back the mpg factor.

Drove from TN to upstate NY and happy to report I averaged 20.5 overall. Lie-o-Meter was 21.1 Family was really impressed with the ride -- my cousin is strictly a Ford guy and loved the Sport.

It was LONG. 1053 there and 1053 back + misc. running around. My mom (who is 92) wanted to go visit her 2 older sisters, one 95 and one 96! She doesn't like flying. Sidebar, not one chip or nick in the paint. That surprised me with all the construction I went through.

I have a 2010 crew cab 4x4 hemi with 3.92. when I deployed my wife took the truck from Oklahoma to Washington and managed 19.4 mpg total trip doing above 75 mph sometimes reaching 85. and that was with a bed cover and the truck fully loaded, running 89 octane. my truck unloaded with the bed cover ive seen 23 mpg cruising at 55mph on level roads.

I miss the good ol days when I ran stock. 35s and 4" lift killed it but I'm still happy with the mileage I'm getting. 8 speed is awesome

Traveling around Alberta on a regular basis I average over 1,000 kilometers per tank (110 Litre tank) and I fell that is damn good for a full size crew cab 4-wheel drive. Will be giving it a real test in a few weeks when a friend and I will be driving from Edmonton, AB to Dallas, Texas for the 8th race of the Nascar chase 2015. Should be an interesting trip - will let you know what my average mileage is when I return.
