V-10 RAM
Senior Member
Last August I bought my 99 Ram V-10 5 SPEED 4x4. I bought it cheap I thought with only 72,000 miles from the original owner.
I bought it to replace a 86 F250 460/C-6 4x4 Ford as my towing truck & any heavy stuff I needed to do.
Well, first off I bought this 99 Dodge when it was 12 years old for $5500 with 72,000 miles.
I bought the 86 Ford in 1997 when it was 11 years old with 123,000 miles. for $6500.
Now here is the big difference. In one year I have only had two issues with the Dodge an ABS sensor, washer tank go bad. This is outside of regular service & maintenance.
In the first year of owning that Ford I replaced both fuel pumps, ignition cylinder, radiator, transfer case output seal, & this was just the beginning.
Bottom line the DODGE in the first year of about the same usage has cost me far less money than the FORD.
The other difference this V-10 will pull circles around the 460 I had. This Dodge pulls 10,000# like nothing. I had to put 5000# AirLift Air Bags on that Ford to handle our 10,000 TT. It only sets this Dodge down a few inches.
I really am glad I bought a Dodge. This might be the best truck I have ever owned. I'm an old man & have owned many trucks in my years.
GO MOPAR.
