Always wanted to give this a shot and I found a good deal on a set of used headlights. That way if I effed something up beyond repair I wouldn't be stuck without lights.

The disassembly. Baked at 250 for 17 min. Butchered the plastic around the edges pretty nice. Prob could have baked a little longer. Hopefully not too big a deal

Hard to get a good pic. When I get home this evening and install, I'll post more pics.

All said and done, I've got prob 9 hours and $170 invested. Def worth it for the experience and I just love doing this kinda stuff. There are a few things I'd do differently if I did a second set. I little more patience for sure. Bake...pry...bake...pry.... Bake... I feel would have been better for not chewing up the housing as much. I also would remember to clean finger prints from inside the lens before I put them back together. I also would not step on the reflector again and crack it in half as I wanted to paint and re-use them.

Thanks for looking, will have more pics this evening

Turned out pretty good! Love the DIY stuff like this.

Could be worse, the set I did for my old 3rd gen got dog hair from our golden retriever inside of them somehow.

Another good thing about getting that spare set is you can take your time. When you rush , that's when you mess things up.

Ha! I have a black lab and no matter where I go, I find a hair from that animal. Like she runs around when we're not home and sprinkles fur on everything. Luckily my lights are black so at least I can't see the hair.

I dont know if it was already like that before, but i realized that little white clip that holds the housing from behind, was cracked. It doesnt hold the light in tight to the fender anymore. 19/20 people prob wouldnt notice it but I do. Any one know what its called or how to replace it?

Lights look mighty fine to me.

I also did not spend enough time cleaning mine the first time before re-assembly.
When I take these apart for paint, I'll be beyond OCD.

Nice job man, I would like to do mine someday too. Need to find an extra set when the funds recover
