My First Dodge. Need help

I just bought my first Dodge and I dont know much about them. I have always had GMC or Chevy trucks. I picked up a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 Laramie regular cab long bed. It looks terrible but it only had 150,*** miles on it and the engine seems to run very well. The only thing that needs fixed is the back brake line and a new exhaust. I do not know anything about this engine or truck. What are the Pros and Cons of this engine. What are some common issues and things that I should look into getting fixed. Any insight is appreciated. This is my winter/range truck so it will only be driven when it snows or I need to get back to the woods.

Welcome to the forum. I had a 1994 2500 with the 5.9. Good truck. My 5.9 liked to drink the gas, other than that, no real problems.
