Yep - This 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 is the first pickup truck I have ever owned and this is my first real post on this board.
I bought the truck because I travel for business and need to haul more stuff than my old sedan could handle. I am also enamored with the idea of getting a travel trailer and bringing the family with me. The truck has a factory tow package and can pull 8,000 lbs.
Anyway, I am impressed with the truck. I am getting better gas mileage than I expected and the ride is better than I expected as well. I went on my first business trip with it and put about 1,000 miles on the clock. I averaged better than 19 mpg with a mix of city & highway.
I looked at the GMC Sierra and the Chevy Suburban (my wife calls them Sah-boo-boos) but the Ram was the best bang for the buck. (Ram, bang, buck - There's a joke in there somewhere)
So, I've had too much bourbon; I'm going to bed.
