FWIW Ive settled on oil change and OEM filter every 5000 miles and fuel filter changes at or near the truck dash recommendations. I use shell Rotella T4 or T5 - whichever is cheapest for the oil changes since I’m changing so often. It’s the soot/dirt, not the wear on the oil I’m trying to avoid. I do new Donaldson air filter every 15k or so.

My diesel guy reminds me often. The guys (Ram) recommending 15k between oil changes are the same guys that will sell me a new engine.

2021 Ram 2500 Limited Longhorn 6.7 - 39,000 miles.

FYI Cummins set the OCI not Ram and there is no reason to change every 5K unless you run 80% slow city stop & go driving, T4 can safely go 7500 miles between oil changes unless your drive mostly slow city stop & go or lots of short 1-3 mile drives.

You might wanna look at cetane boost and additives that help burn cleaner and hotter to keep the egr cooler gum free and dpf as well/ Of course the main thing you can do for those items is nice long freeway miles, but I'd look at additives as well. Way more important then changing the oil that quickly on a sump that takes how many quarts -10 ?

Rotella was a great oil til the last spec, now less then other additive packages, check pqia for more info. I would suggest any synthetic even a cheap one is going to be way better long term. Watch this video if interested conventional versus synthetic...
