So my little buddy, Tazer, is 160 lbs. Can any of you guys shout out how you transport your larger dogs? He's very lazy and likes to stretch out. I have a '13 Express Crew Cab. Unfortunately I don't have the fold flat floor. I have a feeling that would solve all my problems. Any ways...any input is appreciated. Pics are even better! Thanks!

My Irish wolfhound just lays in the back seat. If I were doing long haul I put a cap on the bed.

My baby boy...

We waited 10 months for him. He is currently 13 weeks and 32 pounds. His father was 160 and mother 110pounds. He rides in my passengers seat and my wife's passenger seat. I bought him for my wife. So he will spend most of his time in the Roush next to her.

We had a 140lbs rot, I would put his kennel in the truck bed, use tie downs to keep it from slidding, then back the tailgate up to the front porch so he could walk right in. Otherwise he would sit in the back seat of the wife's grand prix, THE WHOLE BACK SEAT.

thats a big fluffy dog, mine is quite 300 lb yet, however he is every bit of 250ish now his weight fluctuates 10-30lbs depending on time of year.

I had built a ramp for mine to walk up and down into the bed of the truck as after I lifted it he could no longer fit, now since I don't have the truck whenever the dog goes with me somewhere I take the minivan as there is no way he fits in the Chally (the minivan is much easier for him to get in and out of then the truck ever was but he liked riding in the bed so that is where he road most of the time)

This is an older pic of the dog, he is probably 40lbs bigger now than he was there.

I have 2 German Shepherds. They ride in the back of the truck in harnesses. The harnesses are hooked to a strap system run across between the front lower tie downs. They are hooked to the middle of that strap and can only get their noses to the edge of the bed and no further. So for the most part they are very safe. If they were in the cab and we got in an accident they wouldn't be restrained and would probably end up through the window. This way they are restrained to the bed and would probably only hit against the bed front. Wouldn't feel good but I believe they would have a much better chance of survival hitting the bed front versus going through the windshield. Their tether is 24inches so they are up against the cab for the most part anyways. There isn't a lot of movement allowed with this setup but they LOVE it.
