Paint has a ton of metallic so it looks darker and lighter depending on lighting. To me sometimes it's dark blueish grey sometimes it's light and it almost has a purplish hue to it sometimes. Here is a pic at night after I peeled the vinyl decals on the d pillar between the doors. Flash shows off some of the flake. You have to see in person to really appreciate it. One of my favorite colors now!

Is window tint a extra? I thought all new trucks having it? When I drive here to the dealer, not one truck has the untinted windows front.
I even have a foil tint from factory at the windshield- it's even on the built sheet. if it's in the sun and you look from the side, it looks like a rainbow on the windshield.
Also- I know there is a film on it, because as I bought it, there was a little tiny damage to it in the corner of the windshield- had to fit a tape over it, not to damage it more when cleaning the windshield.

Nice truck though. Love the color too. That's where I had to make my compromise.
I like it.

It is funny how depending on what part of the US you live in the trucks come with different addons from factory or dealer. My back windows were factory tinted and the front just has the uv protection in the glass. I had my two fronts done with film and a strip on the windshield. Love the way it complements the color. This is my second 4th Gen. My first was a 13 in deep cherry pearl which is another great color but it's everywhere these days now so thought I'd change it up with the max steel.

I like that color, Ram has the best paint color line up out there. Mine is Black Gold, lighting makes it look different all the time.

Ktfinch2009 how did you get the vinyl off the door pillars? I have a 14 max steel sport and the vinyl is starting to wrinkle around the edges so I want to take it off.

like stated it depends on where you are at. i believe in some states dealers just do it since there are no tint laws. Here in Minnesota legally you can go over 50% front windows however on all the other windows you can black them out.

cars you cant do over 50% legally either on all windows. some shops will do it, some wont even of you sign a waiver.

thanks for the reply and with the closeup great colour, my eyesight is failing fast so closeups work great for me. Mine is the metallic red so I am not sure if that makes any difference with light changes, I will have to ask someone with good eyesight

i held out for Max Steel and glad i did. it gets called gray a lot, but, in the sun, it's a purplish blue. when it's dusty, it ruins the whole multi-color thing. then, it's just dirty.
