Alright so I've recently got the mod bug again and am wanting to lift my truck higher. So instead of just doing what everybody else does and buys a full lift, I'm going to piece together a 8 inch lift. Now how am I going to do that? Just like this:

Bilstein 5100's @ 2.8 (already installed) *
2 inch strut spacer (front)
1.5 inch spring spacer (rear)
3 inch Performance Accessories body lift (with gap guards)

Now I know some of you just read that and did a double take when you saw Bilsteins + a strut spacer. I have been melting my eyes doing tonnes of research about the cv angles and the upper control arm ball joint angles. I have even spent a decent amount of time measuring my own angles and experimenting with a floor jack lifting up the front end. I am not worried about the cv angles, but I will be keeping an eye on the ball joints and if they are too sketchy I will buy the Zone heavy duty upper control arms.

This will be where I post my updates on how everything is going throughout the project. (It's gonna be a while)

* I rounded the Bils being at 2.8 to 3 because its such a small amount.

Also here is a pic of my truck how it sits now

Also a question for the people that already have the Performance Accessories 3inch body lift, How does your tow package receiver hitch look now? Just wondering if it will look weird after the body lift

Truck looks really sharp!! Just wondering though, with the bills at 2.8 and a 2" lift spacer wouldnt that put a lot of stress on the ball joints and increase the axle angle too much? I havent heard of anyone adding 5" of lift in the front without changing anything else.
Update......ooooops, should have read the rest of your post before I commented, me bad, lol!!!!

You’re saying you will run 4.5-5” of suspension lift with no spindles, Diff drop or lowered crossmembers?

No you won’t. The UCAs and CVs wont even stretch that far. 3.3-3.5” of about as much as you will get.

There is a member on here already running a 2 inch spacer on top of bils @2.8 that's where I got the idea from. I'm not worried about cv angles but I am prepared to buy some zone upper control arms if needed

That is incorrect my friend.

@ScottCantrelle have you ever actually shifted it into 4WD with your current setup?
Is it still functional?
What about when in 4auto, any vibes?

I’ve used 4LO once to pull an over-confident Silverado and his 25’ trailer out of the sand, and used 4 auto a handful of times on slippery roads. No issues to report. Worked exactly like stock.

To save even more $ you could use hockey pucks for your body lift. It will even help with rattles and absorb vibrations better.

Haha I'm going cheap, but going cheap doesn't mean I'm gonna do it the wrong way

Front and rear spacers have been ordered! :D
I'm a little iffy about the body lift now that I look at how it is installed. I do all the work to my truck on my own and I don't think I'm gonna be able to get my self to take a cutting wheel to the frame and bumper for the bumper mounts. We shall see though.
