is the 2013 known to be getting LED tails? Those look like they could be LED tails to me? But it seems that its sitting pretty high for just a 1500 but that dont look like 4in exhaust to me either.

If I remember right they are getting led tails. I agree it does look more like a 2500... possibly the hemi version???

I would say I have to agree with much of the above. The ride height looks way too high to be a 1500, and the exhaust looks stock hemi to me. You can even see the resonator hanging out by the back bumper there. Also, the tire profiles are all wrong for a 1500, too tall, and narrow. Nothing like you would expect to see on a 1500. The minimal bulge makes me think E-rated.

On a different note, it would make sense to run a 3in exhaust for a V-6 diesel, cuz I am sure the displacement would be much less than the 6.7L of the I-6 for the HD trucks. I think they only come with a 4in anyway right?

Some front end pics would have been nice lol, one shot of a solid front axle would put a huge damper on most of the rumors in the article.

stock 5.9 and I assume 6.7 cummins trucks come with a 4in turbo back exhaust. It could be a V6 diesel. The dmax uses only a 3.5in exhaust from the factory. Dont know about ford. Point being if a dmax V8 runs 3.5 a V6 could run less. But I dont see why they would put a V6 diesel in a 2500 truck.....and that still looks like a 2500 truck.

Man!!! I was planning on keeping my '09 for a long, long time but a diesel option in a 1500 might have me trading it in once they have been out for a year or 2.

I'm with you on this. I live my '12 ram but a light duty diesel option would definitely have me looking into them. I was excited many years ago when the rumors of the big 3 having 1/2 tons with diesels were floating around. But, they died off for awhile. We'll see soon enough

If I saw that on the road I'd probably hit it on purpose and when the guys calling the police go and try and pop the hood and take a look at the undercarriage

Sad thing is it will most likely be the same if not close to the same price as a 5.9 or 6.7
So why not just get the bigger diesel truck.
I have a feeling that it will be referred to as the mini diesel .

Hemi has the little brother 4.7
Now the big diesel has its little brother .

If it is a 1500 diesel then price must be considered. As stated, if too close to a big boy cummins then might as well go bigger

I sure hope that is a light duty 6 cylinder diesel engine, that would be a sweet ride.

Chrysler reported several months ago their 1500s would be getting a smaller inline 5 Turbo Diesel. If I remember about the inline 5 part correctly. All I remember was the entire article was geared towards facts, it was just a matter of late 2013, or early 2014 for their to be competition with the Ecoboost Ford. I remember them reporting 360+HP and over 500FTRQ. I need to find the article.

I highly doubt 360 hp, maybe 240-250hp and right around 450 ft-lb
Judging by the grand cherokee numbers, I don't see the fuel efficiency to be all that great, especially to make up for the cost of the $6,000+ option and extra cost of fuel price
