Need Assistance Picking out a 2015 RAM 1500

The $39,000 price you talk about is after the down payment is subtracted. I'm not trying to rip you but you seem to be removed a bit from reality. Telling the OP he should consider the 6.4 because his 16 year old son will love the power when he gets his license is just a stupid statement to make. How good of an idea is it to give a new inexperienced driver such a vehicle to drive because he will love the power?

The OP does not need a 2500. He stated he wasn't planning on towing. If he got a 1500 Crew it would meet all the needs he stated. Why try to talk him into more truck then he needs? He should use the money he saves from not buying too much truck to get more creature comfort options.

And I don't tow anything, and never will, but I have a 2500. Why? Because 1500s are small and girly, and 2500s are manly and beefy. I think EVERYONE should buy a 2500 or 3500, well, because they're cool. I even jacked mine with the 6.4, so I could smoke these losers who think theyre cool with their sports cars. And because Im quite popular, and quite The Talk at the country club, when i pull up in this beast. I did the best of both. I got the 6.4L Mega cab Laramie 2500, then I loaded her up to the gills with every creature comfort available, plus Im going to go way more over-the top, and add Things like Air-Horns, amplifiers, Undercarriage Lights, Etc. and I'll pay another $7K to have mine stretched to a long bed (because megas only come in short beds). Why? I dont tow or haul anything, so why would i do that? Well, because I want to. Am i full of myself? Well, just a bit, maybe, but we all should be. Theres no reason why anyone should ever buy a 1500, when the 2500 is so much better.

Actually the 6.4 2500 is a decent amount slower so it actually would be better, just a lot more expensive.

The 6.4 Hemi isnt slower than anything, my friend. I'm smoking sports cars with this beast. I'm gonna throw in the G-chip (or whatever its called), that will up my HP from 410 to 470. Look out, vettes! The hammer is coming.

Guys, again thanks for all the advice. I will look into the Outdoorsman 1500 CC as someone suggested earlier with the Hemi, spray in bedliner & luxury package. I will research via trucar and definitely join tread-lightly. Hammer7777, I like your attitude even if it is a bit over the top! I would like that information you offered. Please PM me all the details. Can't hurt to ask. Jersey dealers, at least the two I went to were not willing to deal to much. Although I like the idea of the Mega Cab 2500, I do think that it is more truck than I need. As for my son, he currently has his permit will have his license in February and he will not be driving the truck without me in it! That truck represents too big a danger for an inexperienced driver and although he will probably be safe in it I fear for the other person. All great advice guys, I appreciate all your input!

My 1500 would run circles around my 2500, and yours is quite a bit heavier. If you had a Cummins that had some work done to it you might be able to say it is fast, until then if you keep saying your 16 second truck is fast your just further embarrassing yourself.

My truck is CRAZY fast. Faster than my car (admittedly a Lincoln Town car, but whatever). Man, that rig has some juice. I looked into and considered the Cummins, but the hemi has more HP, And Lower 0-60 Times than Cummins, though obviously less torque. My rig has juice, baby. The people that contact me are quite content, thank you. And you are embarrassing yourself by personally attacking someone else, which has been reported to the moderators, boy.

Sweet Jesus the 1500 with the 5.7L is faster than the 6.4 2500. It's not hard to see this. I have a 6.4 and no it is not a fast truck, it can pull just not very fast from 0-60 lol. Engine is designed far from being a fast engine.

6.4 is, by Nature faster than the 5.7. Thats why i ordered the 6.4, just for speed, and power. 25s are faster than 15s, on average, and 35s are faster than 25s. Thus the higher number.

That dealer that u claim i "screwed over" (your words) offered me A Finders Fee for anyone who i can send over to him. SO obviously this guy doesnt hate me as much as u think he does. If someone goes and gets a good price on a car, whats it to u? And worst case scenario, if this dealer cant beat someone's best offer, u walk away and buy elsewhere. Seems like a no-lose situation, i think.
