Hey guys, I am looking into adding more blacked out features for my truck. I really like to look of halo projector lights that are blacked out. Also I want to get HID's because from what I have seen and read they look awsome and are very bright.

My question is, I see a lot of halo lights with LED's wich are nice but would I be able to do a HID coversion on them?

Dodge RAM Pickup Truck 1500 2500 Black LED Halo Projector Head Light DRL Lamps | eBay

here is an example of ones that I was looking at.

If I can do a HID conversion on them, how much will it cost and how hard it is to do?

If there is any info that would be good to know I would really like the imput. I am good with my truck but electrical stuff is a field where I still need to learn a few things.

Thanks

Well......

Here's the fun. The headlights there.......well, getting what you pay for there. There are a lot of CHEAP components in there.

Halogen projectors - not really designed for HID use. Can you shove HIDs in there? Sure. Is the output great? Not really.
LEDs / Halos - if they last 6 months, I'd be surprised......and they are quite dim

Of course, there are a LOT of options out there, but there is no way I can even come close to matching a $125 cost.

How do Halogen Projectors compare to HID's?

What are some better quality headlights I should be looking at?

halogen projectors vs HIDs (in a HID projector). night and day.

I make custom headlights. We start with new lights, retrofit in HID projectors, paired with HIDs. When its all said and done, you'd get a set that will work with your truck and provide awesome light output.

Here's some examples of my 02-05 work:

This is also something you can do. I sell the parts to complete this!

JJ's stuff might cost more than a set of ebay lights, but you also get a much better looking product that also is immensely higher quality. You will not regret getting a set of retro lights

Thoes look really nice man. I am a DIY guy so I would love to try and tackle this myself. I will defiently look into getting that kit from you it looks pretty nice. Not questioning you work at all I already see a few people already back up you work. I would just love to be able to make a set myself.

Hell, he even has such great customer support that he helps when you're not ordering the lights through him!

On my second set of JJ lights (First on 08, now on my 12) and I love em. Favorite mod on both trucks.

My next question is, I dont know what size bulb would I need? There are so many sizes with H1-H8 I have no clue what is what.

Also what is the difference between 30W and 50W? What one would benifit be better?

Also I am looking at a nice bright white light. So would 6000k be my best bet? I dont want any color in my lights just bright clear if you will. I dont like to blue or pink lights haha

Also as far as Hi/Low I would like to have the option to have both. But what is Xenon HID hi/lo? I seen many people suggesting these.

All the other questions I can think of for now. Like I said I am not familiar with lights at all

H1 is for the projector
30-50 is the intensity of the light output. 50 is better
6000k is really nice. I have it and its perfect.
And you want bixenon, for no projector.

Xenon is not hi low.
