I have a 2014 1500 2wd 5.7L and for awhile now while driving over speed bumps or hitting potholes I noticed a rattling in the back left area of my truck. Finally found it the other day, but I've been looking around at brake diagrams and can't find a part name. Not sure if this is a risk but been driving with it for awhile.IMG_8361.JPG

I see that crack.. But can't tell if it's part of the bearing or axle.

EDIT- Doing a quick search, it's looks like that broken area is part of the backing plate assembly.

I believe this part comes as part of the backing plate assembly. Believe it or not

I’ve tried searching for the part as a whole and individually, and I have also been to an auto parts store and couldn’t seem to identify what exactly it’s called. I’ll have to find some time to go to a Ram dealer to see if they are able to identify the part.

Check out this If U got a good SA at dealership, should be no problem: All this IMHO::

LEVER--LINK--LEVER-ASSEMBLY--LINK-AND-LEVER-ASSEMBLY-Right-or-Left-Park-Brake--Parking-Brake/6704419/05080569AC.html FOR 2014 2wd SLT..

DARK KNIGHT above post has it: U just need to order specific part for your YEAR truck, as different years have same part ### except for last (2) letters...

I WOULD GO WITH THE MOPAR BEFORE DORMAN, JUST MHO:

I think its part of the rear hub/bearing assembly not brakes. Yes the rear brake caliper connects to it but i dont think its part of the brake components and that is why they cant find it

Looks like the parking brake cable bracket. If you have trouble finding one you can probably get it welded back together. It looks like pretty beefy metal, somthing must have banged that pretty hard to break it.

Thanks for all the replies. It sounded like I had a cowbell under my truck for awhile but I ended up just trading it in for a 2019 classic.

Here I thought I was bad trading them in before the factory wiper blades and tires wore out...

Congrats on the 2019 Classic!
