Need help identifying

Hello, recently my tail light was broken and I need to replace it but I’m stumped at what I found. My truck is a 2015 Laramie longhorn with the 3.0l ecodiesel and it has factory led tail lights. everything I look up is you just plug in one connector and your done. But my truck has two small boxes wired in one goes to somewhere in the truck the other looks like it goes nowhere. I just need a little help figuring out what the boxes are. Thank you.

Aftermarket trailer wiring maybe? Or backup light canbus decoder for someone who added led reverse lights? Looks like something like that anyways

It also looks like your correct connector is further back in there and that's just a jumper of sorts.
